The notion that employers are only interested in where you have been and where you are heading is pure nonsense. Experienced hiring managers take into account both your experience and your character. After all, in the end, they are hiring a human being, not a robot. Still, many believe that personal attributes just take up space and make the resume ?fluffy.?
After reading countless job descriptions that make it a point to mention personal characteristics and speaking directly with hiring managers on this specific topic, I?ve come to realize that it?s not the inclusion of personal attributes that make resumes superficial. It?s how the characteristics are presented that is tthe cause of concern. In this article, I will focus on the top three characteristics employers seek (good communication skills, honesty, and a strong work ethic) and discuss how you can seamlessly integrate them into your resume. Now let?s get started.
Promotional MarketingMy husband is involved in
Promotional Marketing work and, as such he often gets really good perks as part of his job. When he first went into
Promotional Marketing things were much better as the economy in general was so much more buoyant and we got some really fantastic treats at the time. On one occasion we were given tickets to see Stevie Wonder in an executive box with drinks and food supplied to us all evening. It was absolutely amazing. Things have changed now of course and
Promotional Marketing does not yield treats to that sttandard any more. However, we still do get the odd perk and, I must say, it is really nice when we do as I love attending these sort of events. My husband came home the other night and told me that his company have done the best they have in the last two months for the last few years and my ears immediately pricked up. I began to envisage all sorts of wonderful days and nights out but my husband told me not to be so hasty. It would be a while before these things came back on board, if they came back at all.

Super Glue
I recently bought some new chairs for my kitchen and, although they were quite expensive, I was really pleased with them as they looked really stylish. However, to my horror, after a couple of weeks the frames began to come apart slightly. I could not believe it and when I told my husband, I was really upset. He said he was sure that we could fix them with some Super Glue and went out to the shops to buy some and get the chairs fixed properly as they should be. He did come back with the
Super Glue and fixed them as best he could. However, again after a few days they began to come apart again. I was really distraught by this time as I felt that if
Super Glue could not fix them then there was nothing that we could do. I therefore decided to bite the bullet and talk directly to the company I had bought the chairs from in the first place. Luckily, they were really nice about it and said they would collect them straight away and replace them so that I was inconvenienced as little as possible. I was a little worried that the same thing might happen again but the replacements have been absolutely fine.
